I founded A Peace of Mind Advocacy after I was a personal advocate for my mother for the last 12 years as she battled Alzheimer’s disease and the effects of aging.  From researching and visiting independent living facilities, facilitating the need for assisted living, attending every doctors’ appointment, bedside hospital stays and partnering with the assisted living facility and the caregivers to ensure all of her needs were being met.  After she passed away, I realized that there are many older adults who may not have someone nearby or family who may live nearby but just can’t be available due to work and/or family obligations

 

I’ve also been a warrior for the last 40 years fighting and learning more about my own rare disease-
Charcot Marie Tooth-Inherited Progressive Peripheral Neuropathy.

I found the best doctor in my state and attended facility as a patient volunteer meeting specialists from around the world to ensure consistency in evaluating patients for neuropathy.

I understand what it feels like to be a patient with a permanent disability, how to navigate the outside world with a disability and advocating for myself at how I want to be treated personally and professionally. From the time I was diagnosed I challenged the medical professionals to see me as an individual and continued to stay up to date with any resources in the medical field to help me navigate my own condition

 

My life experiences and previous career as a background investigator give me excellent researching skills.

 

I combine my skills as an investigator, a patient, a daughter and a patient advocate knowledge to provide you with options, services and A Peace of Mind as we navigate the complicated healthcare system together.
